DOLPHIN / MAHI MAHI / DORADO
Dolphin (aka. mahi mahi or dorado) are usually caught on items floating in the water and on weed lines in the warmer months. They can be in schools which is a spectacular sight or “loners” that can hook up on your fly pole. There is a special technique in catching these fish and once you have it down you can put as many as 60 fish in the boat in a very short time. Just watch for flying hooks cause it happens fast!
Catch them from late May through October.
Bag limit: 10 per person per day with a maximum of 60 per vessel per day.
Size limit: none yet but there is rumor that will change in the near future.
