Capatin Mark and Eric brought the boat back early this morning. Scotty got to drive the truck back. The dry dock stuff is all packed up and back in the storage unit where it will stay until next year when we go through the same thing.

Charter Fishing Destin Florida Detroit Diesel is coming on Monday to pull the clutch and take it back to the shop for a rebuild.

That will take about a week and then we’ll be ready to start taking trips. It will be great not to have to worry about the clutch going out in the middle of the charter fishing Destin season.

Charter Boats Destin Comes Back Home at the Marina Cafe

Today was cold and windy at the boat yard but the boot stripe got painted, the letters went on, the bottom got painted and tomorrow one of the finest charter boats Destin comes back to it’s home at the Marina Cafe. Captain Mark, Eric and Scotty have worked hard and almost every single day to get the Bounty Hunter ready for fishing. We still have topside Coast Guard inspection to get through but that isn’t something that will keep us from fishing and we’ll talk about that in another blog.

Charter Boats Destin

Charter Boats Destin still has one big thing to address before the fishing season begins and that is to get the clutch rebuilt.

It is working but Captain Mark does not want to take the chance that it will break in the middle of the season. Now is the ideal time to get it fixed and we have Florida Detroit Diesel coming to do the work. Those guys charge a lot but you get what you pay for! They come when they say, they do the work right, they guarantee it and get charter boats Destin back to fishing fast.

So tomorrow morning our 3 guys will head to Freeport to the Fisherman’s boat yard and wait for the boatyard people to fire up the sling and get them back in the water so they can start on the journey back to Destin. I guess Scotty and Eric will flip a coin to see who rides on the boat and who drives the truck. It’s been a great dry dock for the Bounty Hunter charter boats Destin.

It was a really good week at dry dock. We have been very lucky with the weather and are very close to being able to bring the boat back to Destin. The Coast Guard came to inspect the boat on Friday and were very pleased. We got a clean inspection with no “gigs” so we can leave when we finish. The guys are doing some touch up paint work and as soon as it dries the stern letters can go on, the bottom gets painted and into the water we go.

We are really looking forward to the upcoming season. There are already some trips on the books and we’re getting quite a few phone calls on a regular basis so it’s looking good for 2012. We’ve been doing the usual winter chores like going through the tackle catalogues and ordering for the season.

There are going to be some big changes on the Destin fishing docks this year. The city of Destin is building a boardwalk all the way from the Lucky Snapper way down past the Boat House. It looks like it’s going to be a big constructions project with lots of parking disruptions.  We like being on our docks down at the Marina Cafe. The other folks with businesses down there are great and we all get along well and help each other. It’s a nice little quiet community and we like being a part of it. Best of all we won’t have the construction turmoil that all the other boats will have to deal with this year.

Well, we’d sure like to hear from you and look forward to booking your trips so give us a call and we’ll get you on the books for the day you want.
